Data Sources

Salaries are drawn from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) survey, May 2025 release, using the median annual wage for each role's Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) code. Turnover figures are drawn from the NSI Nursing Solutions National Health Care Retention & RN Staffing Report, 2026 edition, reporting CY2025 hospital data from 527 acute-care hospitals across 40 states.

Where a role does not have a separately published BLS or NSI figure (e.g., CT Technologist, which is grouped under Radiologic Technologists in BLS SOC 29-2034 and not broken out in NSI), the calculator uses an adjacent-role proxy and the source field documents the substitution.
